My Short
List is Dwindling
Stephen Sandoval
October 11, 2005
In this capacious city we
live in friend,
I believe I have forgotten
your face.
I may have even forgotten
your laugh I guess.
I have been reminded by
gossip and rumors how you are doing.
I hear status reports of
your parties and I scratch my head
Thinking why exactly I am
experiencing your gatherings secondhand.
You have always been on my
short list,
Short list of friends I
would choose to hang out with
At large involved or
intimate and personal unions.
What pains me is that you
tend to forget about me.
You forgot about the two
way street of friendship.
I have never wanted to be
seen by anyone, but you the person I came to love.
