Looking Out At My Garden

It's amazing how calming a garden
can be.
So lush and so full of vibrant, verdant life.
It's amazing how a garden let's one escape,
To escape the disappointment of fallen loves and friends.
The rain in my garden is so
humbling, so soft, yet so loud.
A little over a year ago I believed in the idea of us so much more.
I knew you would eventually betray
me as you did with such polished finesse,
But I'm sure you were betrayed too
and it became your way of life.
I haven't any earth shattering
thoughts and certainly no suggestions for solutions.
We are human and we make mistakes
but hopefully we will learn how to love each other.
Your way is to try again with
someone else; you look for a better chemistry,
And secretly you hope that you
won't make the same mistakes again.
The clouds are looming over my
garden now,
But I still believe in my
experience and I will always believe in love.
I would invite you back for some
tea in my garden someday,
But half of the milk has been
spilled in the soil and what was left went sour long ago.
